Covid-19 emergency: the first cargo flights arrive at Bologna’s Marconi airport with medical supplies destined for Emilia Romagna.
The first of a series of cargo flights arriving from China landed this afternoon at the Marconi Airport in Bologna, with medical equipment purchased by the Emilia Romagna Region and destined for the Civil Protection and Health Authorities of Emilia Romagna to cope with the Covid-19 emergency.

From the aircraft, an Antonov 124 of the Volga Dnepr airline departed from Shanghai, medical equipment was unloaded – 185,000 overalls, a million surgical masks and 15,000 protective goggles – which will be immediately transferred to the health facilities of the region.
A second cargo flight is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, a Tupolev, from the Chinese city of Zhengzhou, with another 70,000 overalls destined for the Emilia-Romagna Region.

Finally, a third flight will arrive in the next few days with about 500,000 FFP2 masks, while other cargo from China will be activated shortly.

The operation was possible thanks to the intense work of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Regional Civil Protection and the Regional Health Authorities, with the technical support of Marconi Airport in Bologna and Fast Freight Marconi and with the collaboration of the Customs Agency of Emilia Romagna.
